Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has described Spanish goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga as “very very good.”
Kepa has been reported as Thibaut Courtois’s replacement at Chelsea.
The Blues are reportedly close to finalising a deal to sign the Athletic Bilbao No.1 and are prepared to meet Kepa’s £71million release clause.
The Blues’ offer is set to arrive on Wednesday and Chelsea are hopeful to have Kepa at Cobham by Thursday ahead of their Premier League opener against Huddersfield Town at the weekend
Kepa would replace Thibaut Courtois who is set to force through his move to Real Madrid.
Chelsea finished their pre-season preparations on Tuesday night with a penalty shoot-out win over Lyon and Sarri was asked about Kepa after the game.
“If I don’t know anything about Courtois, I don’t know anything about Kepa, of course,” he said.
“I saw him one year ago. My first impression was that he is a very good goalkeeper, very young, but very, very good.”
The former Napoli boss also dismissed questions about Courtois after the Lyon match amid reports Chelsea will fine the Belgian for failing to turn up for training.
“I don’t know in this moment. I want to speak with my club and then we will decide about it. I am here to talk about this match,” Sarri said.
“Tomorrow, I have a busy day, so I don’t know anything about the market.
“I have to work in the morning and have a meeting with other coaches in the afternoon. I’d like to improve my players first of all.”
