Real Madrid manager, Julen Lopetegui has disclosed that midfielder, Mateo Kovacic is happy at Santiago Bernabeu,
despite reports linking the player away from the Los Blancos.
Kovacic is on the verge of joining the Blues after he reportedly skipped training to go on strike.
Lopetegui, however, has dismissed reports linking the 24-year-old and his team-mate, Luka Modric away from the Spanish capital.
“The level of excitement is as high as it can be, as it is with most of the players. My understanding is that both (Kovacic and Modric) are happy to be here,” Lopetegui told reporters ahead of their La Liga opener against Getafe this weekend.
“The president [Florentino Perez] was clear and unequivocal.
“We’re in no doubt at all that Modric is going to continue playing for us just as he has been.
“I’ve not seen that Kovacic gone on strike,” Lopetegui added.
“He trained normally. Mateo is a member of the squad, and I am delighted with him.”
