Former Premier League champions, Chelsea have a deal in place to sign Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Arrizabalaga emerged as the Blues’ top target to replace Thibaut Courtois, who wants to join Real Madrid.
Courtois has gone AWOL in the hope of securing a move to the Los Blancos, but Chelsea need a replacement.
According to Spanish outlet, Marca, Chelsea have concluded personal deal with Arrizabalaga.
The report claimed that the West London club will announce Arrizabalaga’s signing on Wednesday.
The report also claimed that the 23-year-old could be training with the Chelsea squad by Thursday and may make his debut in the Premier League against Huddersfield on Saturday.
However, the Stamford Bridge club will have to pay the £71million release clause in his Bilbao contract.
Ironically, it was Madrid who almost signed Arrizabalaga for £17.5m in January, but the Champions League holders backed out of a deal in order to pursue Courtois.
