Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who is at the moment the Acting President in the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari, has ordered the sacking of Department of State Services, DSS, DG Lawal Daura.
Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to Osinbajo made this known via twitter.
He tweeted: “AgP Yemi Osinbajo has directed the termination of the appointment of the DG of the DSS, Mr. Lawal Musa Daura.
“Mr. Daura has been directed to hand over to the most senior officer of the State Security Service until further notice.”
It would be recalled that earlier today, security operatives believed to be assigned to the DSS stormed the National Assembly, preventing lawmakers from entering its premises.
While the reason behind the siege is yet to be revealed, many suspect the move to be aimed at ensure the ouster of Senate President Bukola Saraki.
