Chelsea will on Saturday evening clash with Newcastle United at the St James’ Park Stadium in the Premier League.
The West London club head to the game following a 3-2 victory against Arsenal last weekend.
Apart from midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, the Blues manager, Maurizio Sarri has no new injuries to worry about in his squad ahead of the clash.
Fabregas has not featured in the league yet this term due to a knee problem which could leave him a doubt for the weekend fixture.
Forward, Eden Hazard, started Chelsea’s first two matches on the bench having only returned to training a week before the new season kicked off.
Sarri had indicated during his pre-match press conference that Hazard could be ready to start against Newcastle.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United head to the match following a goalless draw against Cardiff City last weekend.
Newcastle and Chelsea have met 163 times in the past with the Stamford Bridge club winning 71 of those meetings. Newcastle have 53 wins to their name with 39 draws between the two.
Newcastle coach, Rafael BenĂtez will be without suspended midfielder, Isaac Hayden, who was shown a red card during their encounter with Cardiff.
Wing-back, DeAndre Yedlin will be back in contention after recovering from a knee problem but defender, Florian Lejeune remains a long-term absentee.
Robert Kenedy may have found his place in BenĂtez’ starting XI under threat after his particularly woeful performance in last weekend’s match against Cardiff, but the Brazilian is ineligible to play against his parent club, Chelsea.
Newcastle’s potential starting XI:
Dubravka, Yedlin, Lascelles, Clark, Dummett, Richie, Shelvey, Diame, Muto, Perez, Rondon
Chelsea’s potential starting XI:
Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Barkley, Pedro, Morata, Hazard
The kick-off time for the match is 4pm.
